Lew Goldberg is the Vice President and General Manager of Security
Programs, L-3 Communications Titan Group. He has
been responsible for unmanned systems and force
protection support to the Department of Defense for
over twelve years.
Prior to joining Titan in 1993,
Mr. Goldberg was an Army officer for 25 years,
serving as an Air Defender. His assignments
included service in Vietnam, command at the Battery
and Battalion level, Division Chief at the Pentagon,
and support to Desert Storm in the Patriot-SCUD
conflicts.
In addition to his L-3 Com Titan duties,
he serves as the President of the Association for
Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), the
world’s largest non-profit trade association focused
on furthering the goals and objectives of the
unmanned systems community.

Dr. Randall Shumaker is Director of the Institute
for Simulation and Training (IST) in Orlando,
Florida, and Professor of Industrial Engineering and
Electrical and Computer Engineering at the
University of Central Florida. Previous assignments
include Superintendent for Information Technology at
the Naval Research Laboratory, Director of the Navy
Center for Applied Research in Artificial
Intelligence, and Manager for Aircraft Technology
programs at the Naval Air Systems Command.
Dr. Shumaker's personal research interests include
artificial intelligence, biomorphic computing
methods, and advanced techniques for software
development. As a former Presidential rank Senior
Executive, US Voting Member in the NATO IST Panel,
and frequent reviewer and advisor for military
research programs, he has significant insight into
military applications and transition of research
from academia into government and industry.
Dr. Shumaker is the author of more than fifty
scientific publications and is a frequent speaker on
a variety of technical topics. He has served as a
reviewer for several professional publications and
for federal agencies including DARPA, DDR&E, ONR,
NASA, and ARL. He received a Ph.D. in Computer
Science from the University of Pennsylvania, is a
Professional Engineer, and a Commercial Pilot, SEL,
MEL, IA.
