ASME Region XI Spring Combined Conferences was held in Miami, Florida on April 3-6, 2003. ASME Florida International University (FIU) Student Section organized the conference with the assistance of University of Miami (UM) Student Setion and the ASME Miami Section. Friday was busy with oral presentations, poster and web page design competitions, technical conference presentations, YEF Young Engineers' Forum presentations, student business meetings, and Mechanical Engineering Department Heads' meetings among others... At night, however, Mirella Avesani played piano and sang beautiful songs for the attendees. Then, six FIU students performed salsa. After dinner, 16 teams competed in Student Design Competition... Here is a compilation of pictures from both the lunch and dinner. Virgil Carter, Executive Director, ASME International, gave us the keynote speech on Friday night.
