Dr. Resnick is an associate professor at Florida International 

University in the department of Industrial and Systems 

Engineering.  He received his Ph.D. from the University of 

Michigan in 1993.  He received his M.S. in Industrial and 

Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan.  

During his tenure at FIU, he was graduate program director 

since 1997 to 2003, director of Human Factors and 

Ergonomics Laboratory since 1993, an Assistant 

Professor and now an Associate Professor.  He has done 

research for the National Science Foundation, NASA, and 

private companies in the areas of Usability Engineering, 

Search User Interface Design, E-commerce, Naturalistic 

Decision Making, Consumer Product Labeling, and Human 

Reliability.
