CEE Faculty Dr. Fuentes completed a technical assistance mission to Honduras. While in Honduras, Dr. Fuentes conducted an assessment of a number of USAID initiatives that seek integrated watershed management in the Northern region of the country, including coastal protected ecosystems and watersheds of the Bay Islands complex. An aspect of the effort focused on ground water supplies that have most recently been subjected to increased demand by land development and agricultural growth. Dr. Fuentes also provided input to a proposed General Water Law that is being drafted by the Honduran National Congress Water Resources Commission. The mission was sponsored and coordinated by Windrock International in a partnership with the Florida International University.
