Dr. Berrin Tansel has been selected as the 2007 Engineer of the Year by the American Society of Civil Engineers Miami-Dade Branch. During the awards ceremony held on September 18, Dr. Tansel has acknowledged the efforts of ASCE board members including Mr. Tim Blankenship, President; Mr. Felix Peguero, Past President; Mr. Ed Canto, President Elect; and Ms. Maria Fernandez-Porrata, Chairperson of Government Relations, and Dr. Amir Mirmiran, Director of ASCE’s Miami-Dade Branch for their efforts and dedication in advancing the profession. Dr. Tansel joined the other 2007 award recipients Mr. Gabriel Milian, 2007 Young Engineer of the Year; and Mr. Pedro Hernandez, 2007 Government Engineer of the Year.
