CEE Professor Takes the Helm of Applied Research Center (ARC)

 

Dr. Fernando Miralles-Wilhelm has taken the position of the Director of Research of the FIU Applied Research Center (ARC) [arc.fiu.edu]. Dr. Miralles joined CEE in 2005, after spending 5 years at the University of Miami and 4 years at Northeastern University. A graduate of the Universidad Simon Bolivar in Venezuela, Dr. Miralles received his masters degree from the University of California, Irvine, and his PhD degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

The ARC's mission is to solve complex issues in environmental stewardship, energy security, and defense technology through innovative cooperative research and entrepreneurship. ARC is organized into five core research units, of Environment, Waste Management, Energy, Defense, and Water.

Dr. Miralles lives in Doral, FL with his wife Monica, and their daughters Andrea (11) and Adriana (9).
